Here are some ideas to help you get started on formulating a new main lunch line milk plan.
- Think about offering a new flavor each month on a rotating basis, and track its success. Your processor can help you identify flavors that kids will love.
- One school district substantially increased milk volume and unit sales in its secondary schools just by offering 3 new flavors, and 1% fat varieties in 11 oz. plastic bottles.
- Talk to your milk processor about the availability of different packaging that appeals to kids.
- Ask your processor about new merchandising and promotional materials posters, signs, etc. that may be available.
- Post promotional materials in and around the main lunch line and throughout the school to remind kids that it's cool to choose milk.
