Brian Sabo wears many hats in Eastwood Local Schools District: 7th grade football coach, high school assistant varsity track coach, middle school PE teacher and year round weight room supervisor - and in all these roles he educates his student athletes on the unique recovery benefits of refueling with chocolate milk.
"Mr. Sabo has an engaged interest in the physical well-being and growth of our students and he has persistently educated our students and their parents on the benefits of chocolate milk, especially following work-outs," says his colleague, Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Eastwood High School, Chris Fahim.
Brian encourages his student athletes to refuel after work out with chocolate milk because of its nutritional and cost advantages. "It's the cheapest and easiest way for them to get the right amount of calories and nutrients in their system." Plus, Brian says he's found that many of his athletes prefer the taste of chocolate milk to the more expensive sports drinks and protein shakes.
Brian first became aware of the benefits of recovering with chocolate milk after a colleague shared research highlighting the unique nutrient package of high quality protein, carbohydrates, fluids and essential nutrients which make chocolate milk the ideal fitness drink.
In fact, he believes in the benefits of refueling with chocolate milk so much that he even had a vending machine stocked with chocolate milk put in the school's gymnasium so that it's readily available to his athletes after exercise!
