2008 “Campaign for Healthy Weight” Designed to Boost Milk Sales
Coinciding with election year, MilkPEP launched the "Campaign for Healthy Weight" with an exciting kick-off in January, and will provide healthy weight messaging throughout the year, flavored milk promotions and more. From this "Campaign for Healthy Weight" platform, MilkPEP has designed special programs to reach moms, the Hispanic community and teens. New milk mustache celebrities will add excitement, while partnerships with nationally recognized and respected health organizations will increase the impact for the campaign.
Specifically, MilkPEP salutes Mom as the gatekeeper of her family's health, reinforcing the need for moms to drink milk themselves, and to serve it to their families. The Hispanic Campaign leverages the strong Latina mom family network to get the milk message out and highlights milk as an important part of meal time.
Building on the momentum of previous programs, the milk team has put increased emphasis on chocolate milk as a muscle recovery drink. And in the fall, a "spooktacular" Halloween promotion will continue the successful trend of positioning chocolate milk as the holiday's official drink.
