Make the Most of the Dairy Aisle

Today, the spotlight shines brightly on healthier lifestyles, especially as concern over the country's obesity crisis grows. Consumers want to make better choices, and milk is a good place to start. Milk is rich in the essential vitamins and minerals kids and adults need, and studies suggest that including 24 oz. of fat free or lowfat milk every 24 hours as part of a reduced-calorie diet may help people lose more weight and burn more fat than cutting calories alone. Recent data shows that milk's weight loss message has a 68% awareness level among women — your primary shoppers. Click here to learn more about milk and weight loss.

Additionally, milk now offers a variety of value-added products, including flavored milks, specially fortified products, lactose-free milks and more. By catering to a wide array of consumer palates, milk can help boost incremental sales in the channels where grocery products are sold. Plus, milk is easy to cross-merchandise with other food products, making it a star wherever groceries are sold.

Our 2008 campaign, Campaign for Healthy Weight, specifically targets women, mothers and athletes. The 2008 promotions educate women on the benefits of drinking milk combined with a healthy diet and exercise, and educate athletes on the benefits of drinking chocolate milk after exercise as a recovery beverage. Our innovative promotions and POS materials will help retailers get this message across and sell more milk. For more information, check out our grocery promotions page.
